Stacey Nolan's basket with four seconds to play off an alley-oop pass from Shannon Lee gave Hawaii Pacific a 69-68 victory over Wisconsin-Platteville last night in the HPU Coca Cola New Year's Classic at Blaisdell Arena.

The loss ended a 36-game winning streak for the defending NCAA Division III national champions (6-1).

HPU (5-5) trailed 68-67 in the closing seconds when Nolan rebounded a missed free throw by Wisconsin-Platteville's Dan Wargolet. Nolan passed off to Lee, then took Lee's feed above the rim and threw down the game-winner.

The Sea Warriors' DeWayn Allen scored 24 points.

Bullet BYU-Hawaii 92, Evergreen State 86: David Evans hit 10 of 16 shots from the floor, finishing with 27 points to pace the Seasiders.

Paulasi Matavao added 19 points for BYUH (6-4).

Trelton Spencer of Evergreen (3-7) led all scorers with 35 points.

The Seasiders and Sea Warriors will tangle for the tournament title tonight at 8.

In the Hilo Holiday Shootout:

Bullet Old Dominion 80, Hawaii-Hilo 60: At Kailua-Kona, Andrew McCullum came off the bench to score 17 points and lead the Monarchs over the Vulcans.
