


Raylene Howard of the Hawaii women's basketball team has been named the Western Athletic Conference Mountain Division Player of the Week for Dec. 21-27. Howard WAC
player of weekFor the week, the 5-foot-11 junior forward averaged 24 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
She was 25 of 40 (.625) from the field, 2 of 4 from 3-point range and 20 of 28 (.714) from the free-throw line.
Howard also had six steals, four assists and a blocked shot.
MOANALUA SIXTH IN PRELIMS: The Moanalua High School varsity cheerleading team placed sixth out of 53 teams in the preliminary round of the National Cheerleading Competition in Dallas, Texas, yesterday.
The top 20 teams advanced to today's finals.
The Menehunes also won the best choreography title, awarded after the preliminary rounds.
