Thrill-seeking surfers, like this one at Waimea Bay,
were out riding the big waves on the North Shore
today, which occasionally saw sets of 15 feet.
A high surf advisory remained in effect today
for the north- and west-facing shores of all
Hawaiian islands. No beaches were closed this
morning and no rescues reported. The National
Weather Service advised residents along coastal
sections to take precautions to protect life and
property until the surf subsides.
