It doesn't cost a bundle to obtain this look seen on
runway models at the recent French Fashion Gala.
Holiday sparklers don't have to be restricted to rhinestone- or sequin-studded clothing, hair clips, handbags or jewelry.
Taking our clue from the Chanel segment of fall's French Fashion Gala, we find a bit of eyelash glue and flat-backed rhinestones from any craft supply store gives new meaning to the idea of accessorizing.
The idea of face jewelry may seem strange, but women of India and Gwen Stefani have made the stick-on bindi a fashion statement.
A few rhinestones glued to the outer corners of your eyes, or strategically placed, like Cindy Crawford's mole, will win such comments as, "What's that?" "There's something on your face" or "You're all sparkly!" Who cares what people say? You just like the attention.
The rhinestones shown in the accompanying photos measure 5mm, and cost a mere 11 cents each at Craft Supply of Honolulu at 1960 S. King. St. Bigger stones are available, and come in a range of colors to coordinate with your costume.
This is not the last you'll see of face jewelry. Look for more elaborate combinations of jewelry and paint in the coming year as designers focus more attention on India.
