Isles’ pet staple has
own Web page

The turkey is gone and you are still hungry: How about one of the world's longest running cereals -- rice?

Here's a Web page devoted just to Hawaii's favorite staple at http://www.riceweb.org.

The white grain has fed more people over a longer period of time than has any other crop, according to researchers at the International Rice Research Institute.

The Web pages have the history, the geography, the varieties and, yes, recipes for everything from Bavarian Rice Cloud with Bittersweet Chocolate Sundae to Taco Rice Wraps.

And if there is still some turkey left, you might be interested in Turkey and Rice Quiche.
