Paving the way for
Convention Connection

Hazel Malterre-Shaw will be involved with prospective clients holding conventions in Hawaii through Hawaii Convention Connection, a full-service convention management company. She also will work with travel partners and hotels on accommodations and event venues. "We're developing some strategies to get in front of our customers quicker," Malterre-Shaw said.

She has more than 23 years of travel experience and recently was an independent consultant and sole proprietor of HMS Marketing Services. Her company coordinated trade shows, exhibit sales and registration of travel and golf expos. She also worked 21 years for Attractions Hawaii. Malterre-Shaw is the program committee chairperson for the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association. She has been a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association-Hawaii and the Waikiki/Oahu Visitors Association's marketing committee.
