The Aiea Bay State Recreation Area has recently undergone
improvements as part of an effort of the Department of Lands
and Natural Resources and the U.S. Navy to revitalize the
Pearl Harbor area. Work completed in the park includes
picnic facilities, a comfort station, landscaping and irrigation
and a parking lot. Here, Helen Ho, 68, enjoys the view from
the park. She has lived all her life in Aiea and remembers her
family used to go crabbing in Pearl Harbor near Sumida Farm.
