needles in candidateThe Academy Award-winner, who claims to remember experiences from past lives, is denying an accusation that she implanted electromagnetic needles in U.S. Senate candidate Crystal Young.
Young is the Republican Party nominee in today's election against incumbent Democrat Daniel Inouye. Inouye reported raising $981,000 for the election, while Young has $37.29.
Young made the allegations against Mac-Laine last week in the Star-Bulletin.
Today, Mac-Laine said from Malibu, Calif., that she hasn't been to Hawaii in years and has never heard of Crystal Young.
"I don't know anything about this, and she certainly won't get my vote," MacLaine said.

By Star-Bulletin staffPolice seek 3 teens in pellet-gun incident
A 12-year-old boy was shot with a pellet gun and robbed by three boys who are still on the loose.The boy was walking home near Pumehana and Fern streets in Moiliili on Sunday when he was confronted by the suspects at 5:45 p.m., police said.
The suspects took the boy's wallet then shot him in the stomach with a pellet gun. Police said the three suspects are about 13 or 14 years old.
Kaneohe Marine killed in motorcycle crash
A 23-year-old Kaneohe Marine was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail at about 8:27 last night near where Likelike Highway connects with the half-circle loop that leads to Kahekili Highway.The loop ramp was closed from 8:35 to 10:30 p.m. because of the accident.
The victim, whose name was not released, received severe head and body injuries. He went by ambulance in critical condition to Castle Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival at 9:05.
It was unclear initially whether he was wearing a helmet, although one was found nearby.
The accident is the 52nd fatality of the year compared with 64 at the same time last year.
Maui accident victim's condition upgraded
A 21-year-old man involved in a traffic accident Sunday morning in west Maui was listed in guarded condition this morning at Queen's Medical Center.The man had been listed previously in critical condition.
Storage tank leak causes Kahului molasses spill
WAILUKU -- A broken seam in a storage tank caused some 500,000 gallons of molasses to spill near Kahului Harbor.Assistant Fire Chief Clayton Carvalho said the leak was reported close to 3 p.m. yesterday.
He said the owner of the tank, Kahului Trucking & Storage, contained the leak. The molasses is owned by Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Co. and used as a supplement with cattle feed.
Six injured, one severely, in Maui 2-car collision
WAILUKU -- Six people were injured, a 20-year-old Maui woman severely, after a two-vehicle collision at a residential intersection in Kahului, traffic investigator Peter Akuna said.The accident occurred at 11:34 last night at the intersection of Kamehameha and Hina avenues.
Akuna said the woman was listed in critical condition this morning at Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Driver, 18, killed, 3 hurt in Hilo one-car accident
HILO -- One man was killed and three teen-agers were seriously injured when a car went out of control in the Panaewa Hawaiian Homes area of Hilo at midnight last night and hit a utility pole, police said.Witnesses told police the crash took place as the car attempted to pass another car at high speed on Railroad Avenue, a dead-end road in a mostly unpopulated area. Police have not determined whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
The driver, who was killed, was identified as Jayme Austin Camero, 18, of Pepeekeo.
Others, whose identities were not released, were a 16-year-old passenger from Pepeekeo, taken to Queen's Hospital in critical condition, a 15-year-old boy also taken to Queen's Hospital in serious condition, and a 17-year-old Hilo youth taken to Hilo Hospital in serious condition.
Camero's death brought the Big Island traffic toll for the year to 34 compared with 29 at the same time last year.
