These products, taken from each pint of blood, must be replenished. Platelets, for example, only live for five days.
Price is a certified public accountant with 20 years of financial experience. He joined the Blood Bank in 1991 and most recently was director of financial and administrative services. Price also worked as an accounting manager for American Trust Co. of Hawaii Inc. and Bishop Trust Co. and as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP. He earned a bachelor's in business from the University of Hawaii and a master's in business administration from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash.
