Selling tourists on
WestCoast Hotels

Richard J. Oshiro promotes sales for WestCoast Hotels Hawaii as the company looks at renovations for the 227-room Park Shore in Waikiki and the 265-room Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei. WestCoast Hotels Hawaii manages the hotels for Patriot American Hospitality Inc., based in Dallas.

"At the Park Shore, we are planning a major renovation of rooms in 1999. It's about $4 million," Oshiro said. "At the Maui Coast, we'll be renovating the rooms' color schemes."

He has nine years of hotel sales experience and for the past six years has been sales director for the Miramar at Waikiki Hotel. He also worked for the Sheraton Corp. and Hawaiiana Resorts Inc. Oshiro earned a bachelor's in marketing from the University of Hawaii. He is active with the Sales & Marketing Executives of Honolulu, the Pacific-Asia Travel Association and the Travel and Tourism Research Association.
