

A celebration of Queen Liliuokalani's birthday, 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, opens the yearlong Monarchy Series. Music, exhibits
honor monarchsThroughout the year, the shopping center will mark each of the birthdays of Hawaii's monarchs with song, dance and educational exhibits created by the Bishop Museum.
Wednesday's program honoring Liliuokalani will feature a performance by Halau Hula O Maiki and photos and artifacts depicting the life of the queen. The exhibit will continue through Sept. 4. Admission is free. Call 922-2299 for more information.

The troupe's Saturday performance is sold out, but there will be a special free presentation of Amis music at 2 p.m. Sunday on the lawn of the East-West Center. Bring beach mats, backrests and umbrellas.
