TOMORI DETHRONES UMEMURA: Christel Tomori edged defending champion Anna Umemura, 1-up, in yesterday's 18-hole final of the Hawaii State Women's Golf Association Match Play Championship at the Oahu Country Club course.
UH FOOTBALL RALLIES: University of Hawaii coaches, players, cheerleaders and band members will take part in a series of pep rallies to promote new season ticket sales for UH football games.
The rallies will take place at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Windward Mall, at noon Wednesday at Tamarind Park and at noon June 27, at Pearl Ridge Shopping Center. Entries will be taken for a drawing to win two season tickets for the 1998 season.
LONGEST-RALLY COMPETITION: Tennis enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Hawaii Prince Tennis Club's "Longest Tennis Rally" contest June 27-28 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ewa Beach Club.
Partners with a combined NTRP rating of 7.5 or less will rally with each other for as long as possible, with the longest exchange over the two day period winning a neighbor island trip.
There will be a $3 entry fee per team for each rally attempt.
HAWAII INTERNATIONAL CUP SOCCER: Sixty teams, included several from Taiwan, are expected to compete in the third Hawaii International Cup Soccer Tournament, July 22-25, at Kapiolani Park.
The field includes boys and girls teams, representing under-8 to under 19 age-group divisions. Deadline for Hawaii teams to register is July 1.
The tournament is hosted by The Bulls Soccer Club of Honolulu and is conducted under the auspices of the Hawaii Youth Soccer Association. For more information, contact Jeff Carlson at 373-3312.
GOLF FUND RAISER FOR GYMNASTS: A golf tournament to raise funds for the Rainbow Gymnastics' September trip to the Chinese National Training Center will be held on Aug. 26 at the Waikele course.
Each best-ball team will consist of an A (0-10 handicap), B (11-19), C (20-28) and D (29-and-up) player.
There is a $500 corporate sponsor package that includes golf for four persons, a pupu buffet and placement of the company logo on a tee box. The field is limited to the first 25 teams to enter.
