Vicky Hollinger joins the Islander on the Beach Hotel on Kauai as it starts an improvement project. "We about to launch a $2 million refurbishing," Hollinger said. "It should start in June and take three or four months." Heading for the Beach
The Islander on the Beach, with 196 rooms, is done in a Hawaiian-plantation style, adjacent to the ocean and the Coconut Marketplace Resort in Kapaa.
Hollinger most recently was vice president of Cambe Corp., a tour company on Oahu.
A 1959 Punahou Academy graduate, she worked in California tourism before returning to Hawaii in 1966 to become resident assistant manager at Hanalei Plantation. She also has worked in sales at the Imperial Hawaii Hotel in Honolulu, Waiakea Village in Hilo, the Kilauea Volcano House, and worked five years as national sales manager with Hyatt Hotels Hawaii.
