Containing the pass-catch duo of Jay McDonagh-to-Chris Perry will be Job 1 as the Honolulu Hurricanes open their home schedule tomorrow against the Green Bay Bombers.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Blaisdell Arena.

McDonagh leads the Professional Indoor Football League in completion percentage (38 of 61, 62.3 percent) and touchdown passes (11). He has thrown for 438 yards, leading the Bombers to victories in their first two games.

McDonagh's favorite target is Perry, who has caught 18 passes for seven touchdowns, which is tops in the league.

"They're not big, but they're quick," co-coach John Frederick said of the Bombers.

McDonagh and Perry should challenge a Hurricanes defense led by Mike Wolfe of Waianae, who is tied for second in the PIFL with two interceptions.

The Hurricanes (1-1) are coming off a come-from-behind, 46-40 victory over the Texas Bullets two weeks ago. In that game, running back Darrell Jones caught a touchdown pass from Mike Tillis and ran for two scores.

Niko Vitale, who normally plays defensive back, put the capper on two scoring drives in the fourth quarter. He scored on two 1-yard runs and a pair of two-point conversions as the Hurricanes rallied from a 38-30 deficit.

Jones ranks fourth in the PIFL in rushing with 105 yards on 19 carries. He also has rushed for three touchdowns and hauled in two scoring passes.

Frederick said the Hurricanes will try to pick up the pace a little offensively against the Bombers. "We're going to go no-huddle," Frederick said. "The defense doesn't have time to adjust. It'll drive a defense nuts."
