Tickets go on sale next week for

Star-BulletinSave a few bucks from your tax refund or -- gulp -- payment because tickets go on sale next week for the 47th Annual Miss Universe Pageant, which will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. May 12 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Tickets go on sale Monday for $50, $100, $150, and $250.
If that's too steep, there are other less expensive Miss Universe events, including the Dress Universal at the Center from 8 to 11 p.m. May 11 for $10, $20, $30, and $40 and the "Presentation Show" from 7:30-10 p.m. May 7 from $25, $50, $76 and $100.
Tickets for both these events also go on sale on Monday.
At the Presentation Show, all 85 Miss Universe contestants are seen in their evening gowns and swimsuits.
It is also the event where the "Top 10" are selected and the 10 local judges, who have been interviewing the contestants all week, reach their final decision.
Scores from the swimsuit and evening gown competitions will be combined with scores each contestant will have received earlier in the week from a personality interview with the local judges.
The 10 local judges alone have the power to chose the 10 women who could potentially be crowned the next Miss Universe.
Hawaii's farewell party for its own reigning Miss Universe, Brook Mahealani Lee, of Pearl City, will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 27 in the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom.
Tickets for "Brook Lee's Pa'ina Ho'omaika" are $30 and will be on sale until 4 p.m. today at the Stan Sheriff Center; tomorrow from noon to 6 p.m.; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Next week's ticket sales are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Entertainment at Lee's farewell bash will be presented by the group Chant, Kawai Cockett, Na Leo Pilimehana, Randy Hongo, and Patrick Landeza, who will sing "Mahealani," which he wrote for Lee.
