
One of the best ways of keeping a house cool in Hawaii is to install roof insulation. So say the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, and the Hawaiian Electric Co. Raising the roof on insulation
So these two organizations are sponsoring a workshop about roof insulation and also about window tinting as ways to keep Hawaii homes as much as 12 degrees cooler during hot weather.
The Value of Roof Insulation Workshop runs 8 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the HECO 8th-floor training room at 1001 Bishop St. The cost is $12 per person. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
