Mililani Web page
could serve as model

Back in 1995, new Mililani resident and Web page designer John Pescador kept thinking about what he wanted to see on the Internet.

He decided that he should think big about a small area.

So he designed a home page for Mililani, http://www.opihi.com/mililani/. It is so complete that it could be used as a statewide prototype for community activists wanting to get information distributed as fast as possible.

Pescador's site has all the hometown news, links to Mililani schools' home pages and updates on sports and businesses.

Plus the site is cleanly designed and easy to use.

"It's hard but it's fun for now," Pescador reports.

"I would like to hire some students or seniors to contribute, but that's far away yet."
