


Ishii wins Hilo tourney
Star-Bulletin staffDavid Ishii won the Sears Hilo Invitational Golf Tournament yesterday at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course on the Big Island with a par on the fifth playoff hole. Ishii and Mike Pavao had finished the 36-hole event at 134. Both birdied the first playoff hole, bogeyed the second and parred the third and fourth.
In the low amatuer playoff, Jay Kurisu beat Bryson Silva with a par on the first playoff hole.
FUND FOR LIST: John Matias, who roomed with Paul List when the two played for the University of Hawaii baseball team, has established a fund to help the List family with expenses incurred in Paul's fight against Hodkin's Disease.

Matias also pointed out that even though List used his grandfathers name the past several years, he never made the change legal.
HULABOWLAUTOGRAPHS:Nebraska's Scott Frost and Michigan Brian Griese, quarterbacks of the teams that ended the college football season splitting the polls for No. 1, will be vailable for autographs at the Aloha Tower Marketplace on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Frost, Griese and the rest of the players for the Hooters Hula Bowl, which will be played on Maui this Sunday, will be joined at the autograph session with former Heisman Trophy winners Desmond Howard and Doug Flutie.
