Taking on challenging real estate market

John W. Landgraf has been promoted to executive vice president at First Hawaiian Bank, heading up the commercial real estate division.

"In spite of the soft real estate market, First Hawaiian Bank is committed to helping work through these challenging times," Landgraf said.

He joined the bank in 1975 as a corporate development assistant and worked his way up through the ranks. He has been senior vice president since 1986 and manager of commercial real estate since 1994.

Landgraf is a director of the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.

He graduated from Punahou School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and real estate from the University of Colorado.

Landgraf and his wife, Niki, reside in Makiki Heights and have three sons: Tedd, 26; Jason, 23; and Patrick, 15.
