Scott Mackenzie takes on a new position to handle promotions for all of the seven Hawaii radio stations owned by Patterson Broadcasting. Since 1989, he has directed more than 100 on-air or on-site promotions annually for KSSK radio. Promoter changes frequencies
"I'd like to take some of the past successes of KSSK and mold them into personalities on the other stations," Mackenzie said.
New promotions will involve free food, trips and free concert tickets, he said.
MacKenzie said it was "too cold" in Illinois so he left for Hawaii in 1982. He got a bachelor's degree in communications and French at the University of Hawaii.
He has been entertainment director for March of Dimes WalkAmerica since 1988, and is also vice president of public relations for the Ala Moana Toastmasters.
Patterson Broadcasting owns KHVH-AM, STAR 101.9 (KUCD-FM), Classic Rock 98.5 (KKLV-FM) and I-94 (KIKI AM/FM).
