FUKUOKA, Japan -- Ozekis (champion) Musashimaru (Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii) and Takanonami notched one-sided wins today to remain the unbeaten co-leaders six days into the Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament. Musashimaru 6-0,
tied for leadMusashimaru shoved Oginishiki out of the ring and Takanonami levered Kaio to the ring's surface with his patented over-hooking arm throw.
Grand champion Takanohana, an upset victim yesterday, weathered the helter-skelter attack of Hamanoshima before finally latching onto his sash and calmly depositing him out of the ring.
Yamato (George Kalima from Hawaii) trapped the front of the sash of Konishiki (Salevaa Atisanoe from Hawaii) and muscled him out of the ring, leaving both wrestlers at 3-3.
