Musashimaru,
Takanonami tied for lead

FUKUOKA, Japan -- Ozeki Musashimaru (Fiamalu Penitani from Hawaii) remained undefeated at 5-0 while yokozuna Takanohana suffered his first defeat today in the 15-day Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament.

Losses by Takanohana and his older brother, ozeki (champion) Wakanohana, left just Musashimaru and fellow ozeki Takanonami tied for the lead.

Takanohana, Wakanohana and three lower-ranked wrestlers were at 4-1.

Musashimaru pushed out Hamanoshima.

Takanohana lost his balance as he struggled for a hold on Asahiyutaka's belt. The yokozuna ended up with his back to Asahiyutaka and was thrown out.

Konishiki (Salevaa Atisanoe from Hawaii) bulldozed Akinoshu out and improved to 3-2.

Yamato (George Kalima from Hawaii) was pushed out by Kotoryu, falling to 2-3.
