Musashimaru 2-0

Musashimaru (Hawaii's Fiamalu Penitani) held off Akinoshima's pulling attempt, grabbed his foe's belt and forced him out to improve to 2-0 in the 15-day Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament at Fukuoka, Japan.

Yokozuna Takanohana forced out lower-ranked Musoyama, and also is 2-0.

Takanohana, who won his 18th title in the last tournament in September, grabbed Musoyama's belt tightly and sent him out.

Yamato (Hawaii's George Kalima) was forced out by Shikishima, leaving both wrestlers at 1-1.

Konishiki (Hawaii's Salevaa Atisanoe) suffered his second straight defeat as he was pushed out by Minatofuji, who grabbed his belt quickly.
