Adding throw new pillows and linens
can give old bedroom decor a fresh look.

New look for old bedrooms

Many of us get bored with our bedroom decor, yet don't want to spend a lot of money to redecorate or re-style it. There are, however, many ways we can change our bedrooms without breaking our budgets.

Consider:

Rearrange the furniture. As simple as it sounds, people tend to place their furniture in their home and leave it in the same configuration for years. Try placing your bed on an angle, or even in the center of the room if space allows.

Buy some new sheets and bedding and add a comfy pillow or bed chair for reading. Or just throw a favorite tablecloth on top of the bed for an unusual coverlet.

Hang your favorite piece of art above your bed or opposite it, so that when you go to bed every night and wake up each morning, it is the last and first thing you see.

Display some of your prized possessions on a shelf, wall or on top of a mantel or windowsill.

Place vases of fresh flowers in your bedroom for instant color.

Light a scented candle, or place your favorite potpourri in a china cup, porcelain bowl or little basket. The scent will add atmosphere and personality. Or group candles in varying heights on a night table or dresser top for instant lighting atmosphere.

Paint a favorite quote on a wall or around a window.
