State papering
the Internet

Taking care of business means taking care of the paperwork.

While the state can't rid you of the paperwork, it is at least making it a little easier to complete.

If you shuffle over to http://www.hawaii.gov/dbedt/ bac/business.html, you will be knocking on the front door to the state's latest business site.

Here you will find all the forms needed to start a business, from tax licenses to setting up nonprofit corporations.

You still have to download the forms, print them out and mail them back, but the folks at the state Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism say they are working on a form you can fill out online.

If all those forms seem like you are drowning in paperwork, paddle over to http://www.hawaii.gov/icsd/dot/ guide.html where you can find the hundreds of licenses and forms required by the state Department of Transportation.
