Now that the classic Waikiki No. 3 Theatre is about to become history, it's a good time to find out about other historic theaters in Hawaii. "The Waikiki No.3 theater was one of the grandest theaters in the country, the only tropical art-deco theater ever built," said Angell. "Theaters are important, not only as architecture, but because of their cultural heritage."
The presentation runs 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the conference room of Group 70, McCandless Building at 925 Bethel Street. Admission is $2; free for HHF members. Bring your own chewables, drinks are provided.
