for 90210 starTHE last three days of his stay in the islands were even more special for actor Brian Austin Green than he'd anticipated. The Hyatt Regency's Mona Wood already had him lined up for a luxury suite, but when the Presidential Suite suddenly became available, Green was offered that instead. So with his sister, Lorali Kovach, and her boyfriend, Green was ensconced in the three-bedroom suite, complete with office, formal dining room, full kitchen, bar, jacuzzi, exercise equipment and giant-screened TV. Green was effusive in his thanks to Wood for the "star treatment" and even called fellow "90210'er" Tori Spelling, who was at another hotel, and invited her over for a look-see and to hang out. Tori, of course, is the one person who'd probably be unimpressed with the luxury digs, since daddy Aaron Spelling lives in the largest and most opulent home in Beverly Hills ...
IN the not too distant past, about the only Tattoo in Hollywood was Herve Villachaize of "Fantasy Island." Since then, more and more tattoos have been cropping up, what with the likes of Drew Barrymore and Pamela Lee Anderson (inspired, perhaps by her tattooed-to-the-max husband, Tommy Lee Jones) joining the crowd. While in town for the "Beverly Hills 90210" filming, Brian Austin Green added a tattoo to the pair he already sports on his upper arms. While riding mopeds around the island, Green and sister Lorali spotted a tattoo parlor, and on impulse got tattoos. It was a first for Lorali, who went for a dragon on her lower back, and Green will never forget his time in the islands after having the Japanese characters for his name ("Mi-Do-Ri") emblazoned on his chest ...
SPEAKING of tattoos and things Japanese, when Chicago Bulls conversation piece Dennis Rodman was vacationing in Hawaii, he was spotted sitting at Kacho's sushi counter in the Waikiki Parc Hotel, prompting one onlooker to ask, "Does this make him a sitting Bull?" Incidentally, beside having even more tattoos than Green, Rodman did his sightseeing around town on a Harley ...
THE first nonstop Continental flight from Houston to Honolulu was historic in more ways than one. Remember in the old days when Continental had a pub and sing-along piano player on flights? Well on the historic flight Friday they had a huge in-flight performance by entertainers from the Polynesian Cultural Center. They were returning from a promotional junket with the HVCB (including a performance at the Astrodome during a game between the Astros and St. Louis Cardinals) and simply couldn't sit still for the entire flight. So at 35,000 feet, the PCC'ers surprised and delighted the other passengers with songs and dances from Hawaii. I can just hear those folks when they get home telling their friends about the great show Continental has on that flight ... High and Flighty
WITH the ASATAD theater group performing a production of "12 Angry Men" with three women in the cast, we wondered earlier if they planned to de-sex the title. Since so many groups are pidginizing works -- Shakespeare and nursery rhymes for example -- how about a pidgin version of "12 Angry Men" that could fit any cast. They can call it "One Dozen Huhu Buggahs." ... Pidgin droppings
WHEN Gov. Ben Cayetano was asked why he didn't put Republican State Sen. Sam Slom on his Economic Revitalization Task Force, the governor put it as succinctly as he could: "He's ineffective." Come on, Governor, what do you really think? ... And the last word comes from Jay Leno looking on the bright side of the UPS strike: "This could end double parking as we know it." ...
