TOMORROW

"Rainbow Cave": Act One, a children's musical theater, presents a summer musical about the adventures of the Aluli family, 10:15 a.m. July 23-25, and 7 p.m. July 25. Cost: $2. Information, 261-0457.

FRIDAY

Shark overnighter: Jerry Crow, Chris Lowe and Brad Wetherbee lead a night of shark exploration, 7 p.m.-8 a.m., Waikiki Aquarium. Participants construct and test their own shark models. "Summer Reading Program Finale": Summer readers will receive their certificates and a demonstration on kite making will be held, 10 a.m.-noon, Hawaii State Library, Edna Allyn Room for Children. Call 586-3510.

Summer Jam: Enjoy a day of singing, playing, eating and a petting zoo at the Kaneohe Keiki Summer Jam, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., above Castle Hills Subdivision. LOOKING AHEAD

Children's festival: Games, crafts, races, clowns, entertainment and magic and puppet shows are part of the Waikiki Community Center's second annual festival, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 2, Honolulu Zoo. The Honolulu Police Department will provide free keiki IDs and there will be various displays. Parents are asked to have their pediatrician's phone number on hand.

Lunch will be served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the food tents on the middle field. Admission (includes lunch): free for children under 2; $5 for children 2-12; and $8 for 13 and above. Presale family passes: $24 (admits two adults and up to five children).

Music workshop: Eighth- to 12th-graders can attend a six-day workshop featuring concert and jazz bands, and string and symphony orchestras, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 2-7, Pearl City Cultural Center. Workshop will be lead by Henry Miyamura. Cost (includes lunch): $130. Information, 941-9706.

"Ooh, Baby, Baby!": Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest, Aug. 3-4, Windward Mall. Preliminary rounds, Aug. 3; and finals, noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 4. Call 944-5973.
