On solid ground at Amfac Land

Tamara Edwards takes over the top job at Amfac Land Co. and will administer 42,000 acres of agricultural and conservation lands on Kauai, Maui, Oahu and the Big Island. The company recently listed for sale 7,000 acres at Kealia, Kauai, part of the bulk land sales program of property not planned for development.

"We've identified some properties that we don't view as strategically important," Edwards said.

She came to Hawaii in 1995 and has been senior legal counsel for Amfac/JMB. In Los Angeles, she worked six years as corporate counsel for the Angeles Corp., a real estate firm, and two years for the law firm of McClintock Weston Benshoof Rochefort Rubaava & MacCuish.

Edwards earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of California at Los Angeles and a law degree at University of Southern California.
