"Wild Meat and the Bully Burgers": Keith Kashiwada and John H.Y. Wat's adaptation of Lois-Ann Yamanaka's story of growing up in Hilo during the 1970s. "The Bad Seed": ASATAD presents the story of Rhoda Penmark which explores the controversial possibility that evil is genetic. At 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 4 p.m. Sundays, through June 22. Before the June 15 performance (3 p.m.), Dr. Barry Carlton and Clinical Director Jane Ryan, two professionals in the field of childhood disorders, will discuss "Childhood Criminals--Are They Born Or Made?" Performances by all deaf actors in American Sign Language and Voice for the hearing: 8 p.m. June 20-21, and 4 p.m. June 22. "Wishes & Wings": An animated musical adventure for the whole family. The production will introduce several of Hawaii's endangered species including the monk seal, green sea turtle and Pu'eo. Kumu Kahua Theatre classes: D. Scott Woods teaches an "Improvisation" class which concentrates on the fundamentals to develop spontaneity in playing, creating and working as an ensemble, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturdays, June 28-Aug. 2. Cost: $70 for six classes.

Learn the basics of playwriting, including dialogue, character development, structure and building scenes in Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl's "Playwriting" class, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturdays, July 5-Aug. 9. Cost: $95 for six classes.

Original play festival: The Aloha Performing Arts Center are accepting scripts for their fourth annual original play festival. Entries can be on any subject and any length but they should not have been produced before. Plays selected will be given royalty-free staged readings in August at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu. The selected plays will also be publicized as part of the festival. AUDITIONS

"Twelve Angry Men": ASATAD is looking for 12 males, ages 20 to 70, for their prize-winning jury room drama. Directed by Ray Scheele, the play will run from Aug. 29 through Sept. 21. Auditions will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. June 14; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 15, Windward Community College, Little Theater. One rehearsal for script distribution will be held during the week following auditions and formal rehearsals begin July 22. "Children of the World": Children ages 6-12, who can sing, dance and act are wanted for Windward Mall's magical, musical fantasy. Open auditions, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 14 (registration begins at 9:30 a.m.); and 1 to 5 p.m. June 21, center stage. The musical will tell the story of two alien children who come to earth to teach the animals to replenish life to the dying planet earth. Those auditioning must perform a prepared song, providing their own taped background, and a short joke. They also must be prepared to learn a dance routine.

"Eating Chicken Feet": Kumu Kahua Theatre's dark comedy about divorce, abandonment, suicidal impulse and the abasement of Chinese women consists of a seven-member cast and will run from Sept. 4-Oct. 5, with the possibility of a week's extension. Needed are three Chinese-American females, one of highschool age, another in her early 20's and another around age 45-55; two Chinese-American men, one in his early 20's and another around age 45-55; a Jewish-American man in his 20's; and a Filipino-American or African-American woman between the ages of 30-60. Auditions at the theatre are being held from 3-6 p.m. June 28; and 6-9 p.m. June 29. Call backs may be held 7-10 p.m. June 30. Scripts available for sign-out with a $10 deposit by calling 536-4222. "Grease": The Army Community Theatre is looking for nine males, eight females and extras for their production of this hit musical to run Sept. 4-20. Oahu Choral Society: Looking for experienced singers for its second season. The society will be performing with the Honolulu Symphony.
