Ernest H. “Kalani” “Olo” Fernandes, 57, of Honolulu, a printer for Hawaii Newspaper Agency, died May 26.

He was also active in Hawaiian music playing the bass, most recently with Hiram Olsen Trio at Halekulani Hotel.

Born in Hilo, he is survived by wife Mary Ann; daughter Erleen K. “Tweetie”; sons Ernest “Hoku,” Eric, Earl and Erwin “Nunu”; mother Diana F.; brothers Charles, Frank and Pakala; and seven grandchildren.
