

We've been receiving crank calls from the same people who keep mispronouncing our names, saying they want to talk about investments. This has been going on periodically since last year. One day, a taxi driver came to our house, saying we called him. He knew our name. We felt sorry for him because we didn't call. We don't know who is doing this. What can we do? White pages may help
curb phone harassmentLook first on Page 47 of the white pages of the GTE Hawaiian Tel phone book. Under Usage Bylaws, a section on harassment tells you what to do. If the calls are threatening, call police immediately. If they are obscene or a nuisance, just hang up. If they continue, contact police.
One effective recourse is to change your number. In that case, call Hawaiian Tel's customer contact office at 643-3456.
