One killed, 3 injured
in crash near Waialua

A 26-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision when a pickup crossed the center line yesterday on a winding road to Waialua.

The 40-year-old man who was driving the pickup truck is in critical condition, while two passengers from the car -- a woman, 23, and man, 27 -- are in fair condition at Queen's Hospital.

Speed and alcohol may be contributing factors, say police vehicular homicide investigators.

The death is Oahu's 29th traffic fatality of the year.
