








Professionals Daryl Inaba, Jerry Mullen and Troy Tamiya all recorded 68s yesterday to share the first-round lead of the Mid-Pacific Open golf tournament at the Mid-Pacific Country Club. Three share Mid-Pac lead
Three pros, Stefan Carlsmith, Carl Matthews and Tommy Hines, and amateur Paul Kimura were two strokes back.
The 72-hole tournament concludes Sunday.
WAHINE SOFTBALL CHANGE: The game time for the Western Athletic Conference women's softball doubleheader between the University of Hawaii (27-17-1, 8-6 WAC) and Colorado State (39-9, 11-3) tomorrow has been moved from noon to 5 p.m. at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
Also, the 5 p.m. doubleheader today between the teams is Bobby Sox, Junior Olympics and Little League Appreciation Night. Each youth team (ages 8-14) wearing its uniforms will be recognized.
The Wahine Softball Booster Club will have drawings for autographed softballs, T-shirts and media guides. There will also be an autograph session immediately after the second game.
TENNIS WINNERS: The University of Hawaii men's tennis team defeated Western Illinois, 6-1, at Macomb, Ill., and the Wahine topped Bradley, 8-1, at Peoria, Ill., yesterday.
The Rainbows improved to 14-7 and the women to 9-15.
BOXING TOMORROW: An amateur boxing program, a benefit for Golden Gloves, will be held tomorrow at Kalakaua Gym at 7 p.m.
The main event features Gary Hermosua against Clay Lewis in a 165-pound bout.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youngsters age 8 to 17 with children 7 and under free.

BEACH DOUBLES SET: The Oahu Volleyball Association hosts its 80% Men's Beach Doubles Tournament tomorrow and Sunday at Queen's Surf Beach.
