Beil also is president of a new division, Altres Solutions, which provides consulting and training services.

Beil started his consulting company, Solutions Inc. in 1980. He also was director of training and staff development at Survey and Marketing Services (SMS) and taught in public and private schools.

Beil came to Hawaii in 1958 and later earned a bachelor's degree in English and journalism at City College in New York. He got a master's degree in reading and a doctorate in curriculum instruction and learning theory at the University of Hawaii.
