Internet shows off
isle natural beauty

With a colorful opening screen of fanciful turtles, birds, plants and waterfalls, the Nature Conservancy's Hawaii Web page begs to be explored.

Like our state, the Web page shows off best with a little appreciation for the delicate and sensitive natural island environment.

A trip to the page at http://www.tnc.org/hawaii/ explains both the mission of the Nature Conservancy and the fragile existence of the native plants and creatures of Hawaii.

There's information about the latest hiking trails, about ways to help the environment and some success stories of work done by the Nature Conservancy.

The site recently won an Ilima Award presented by the Hawaii Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators to recognize excellence in communications.
