What ever happened to Club Hubba Hubba, the strip bar downtown? It's not open. Club Hubba Hubba
closed for nowThe landmark of 50 years at 25 N. Hotel St. shut down late last year.
"The owner has put the license on hold," said John Rybczyk, Liquor Commission administrator. "She's closed her place. The license is not canceled."
He explained that Yonsun Kanthack is president, vice president, secretary-treasurer and director of YNK Investment Inc., which took over Club Hubba Hubba in 1994. She sent the Liquor Commission a notice in December the club would be closed for a while, Rybczyk said.
Club Hubba Hubba has a cabaret license with nudity, he said. Rybczyk has no idea what the next phase will be.
The same owner also runs Club Sue at 500 Lagoon Dr. near the airport.
Contacted there, she declined to discuss Club Hubba Hubba.
"I don't want to say anything," she said.
