Wakanohana stays unbeaten

Four Hawaii sumotori face each other

TOKYO - Wakanohana stretched his unbeaten record to a 13th day, remaining in the sole lead at the 15-day New Year Grand Sumo tournament today.

Wakanohana withstood a twisting overarm belthold by Kotonowaka and flipped him over near the center of the ring.

Yokozuna (grand champion) Akebono, or Hawaii's Chad Rowan, shoved out fellow Hawaii wrestler Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani, and is 12-1. Musashimaru is 11-2.

Yokozuna Takanohana pushed out Kaio for his eleventh win against two losses.

Yamato, or Hawaii's George Kalima, shoved fellow Hawaii wrestler Konishiki, or Salevaa Atisanoe, straight back and out for his sixth win against seven losses. Konishiki is 8-5.
