Two Hawaii
sumotori 5-0

TOKYO - Akebono and Musashimaru, both from Hawaii, shared the lead at 5-0 with Wakanohana after victories today in the 15-day New Year Grand Sumo Tournament.

Yokozuna (grand champion) Takanohana suffered his second straight defeat. He was pulled down by Tochinowaka.

Yokozuna Akebono, or Chad Rowan, threw down Asahiyutaka; Musashimaru, or Fiamalu Penitani, forced out Kotonishiki, and Wakanohana bulldozed Kyokushuzan.

Konishiki, or Salevaa Atisanoe from Hawaii, was thrust down by Tochiazuma, falling to 2-3.

Yamato, or George Kalima from Hawaii, picked up his first victory against four defeats by pushing out Kotobeppu.

In the juryo division Hawaii's William Hopkins (2-3) drove out Tochinofuji.
