Aina Haina Library: Winter Reading Program begins, running through March 1. Open to preschool through sixth grade students. Read at least one book a week for weekly incentive prize. Second graders and younger can have books read to them.

"Lyle the Crocodile": The jazz-loving, cat-terrorizing character from the children's book comes alive in a Honolulu Theatre for Youth production, 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Richardson Theatre. Other shows are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25. Tickets are $10 general, $7.50 students, $5 youth and seniors. Recommended for ages 6 and up. Call 839-9885.
