The Hilo Stars rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to tie the game and scored the game-winner in the eighth to edge the West Oahu CaneFires, 8-7, at Hans L'Orange Park last night. Stars rally past

in Volcano raceThe victory moved the Stars to within 1-12 games of first-place Maui in Hawaii Winter Baseball's Volcano Division.
Tony Derosso had three hits, including a home run and a triple, for the Stars.
West Oahu's Atsunori Inaba, Manny Vazquez and Kevin Lidle all had three hits. Two of Lidle's hits were triples.
The Honolulu Sharks helped Hilo once again by blanking Maui, 3-0, at War Memorial Stadium as Jeffrey Martin, Kazuya Shibata and Pat Flury combined to one-hit the Stingrays.
Martin fanned seven in five innings and picked up his second victory against one loss. His ERA dropped to 2.02.
Flury earned his fifth save for the Sharks.
