Returning to a private perspective

Beadie Kanahele Dawson has resigned her job as a deputy state attorney general to become chairman and general counsel for Dawson International Inc., the company she founded with husband, Donald, 18 years ago.

Dawson International started as an international trading company. Today it also works in environmental engineering, soil remediation, drilling, and telecommunications. "We're expanding into the Pacific Rim countries, both in telecommunications and environmental technologies," Dawson said.

Dawson had been a deputy attorney general for the past 14 years, working in land, transportation and commercial litigation. Before 1981, Dawson served as public information officer for the Department of Social Services and Housing. She also owned and operated Keiki Wonderland Tours.
