"King and Neel is one of the most progressive companies in developing creating, non-legislative solutions for its clients on some of the same legislative issues that I worked on at the Chamber," McGuire said. These include workers compensation insurance and ways to prevent illness and injuries on the job, McGuire said.

McGuire came to Hawaii 10 years ago. He has worked as an industry hygienist for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in California and an environmental engineer for Bethlehem Steel in Indiana.

He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering at Notre Dame University, a master's degree in environmental health at the University of Minnesota and a law degree at the University of San Francisco.
