The company also has plans to send bottled water and an ice tea drink to the Asian market, said Glenn Muranaka, recently named company president.
The first Tampico shipment is going to a group which puts together weddings in bridal halls, Muranaka said.
"We've been working with them since last August," he said.
"We just got the order last month. Going international is important. If businesses want to succeed in the future they have to go global."
The water product will be sold under the "Lani" label, he said.
"We're also working with C&H Sugar to develop a premium ice tea," he said. "They want it ready for the product show in May (in Honolulu)."
Meadow Gold has been selling the citrus punch in Hawaii for two years, and also has some fruit-flavored teas.
Muranaka developed the company's first international program as executive vice president.
"To sustain competitiveness in the Hawaii and international markets, we must be progressive and create an environment conducive for continuous learning and improvement."
Muranaka started at Meadow Gold in 1972 as a statistical clerk, and then moved up to accountant, office manager, vice president-comptroller, and senior vice president. He was appointed executive vice president and assistant general manager last year.
Meadow Gold Dairies Inc. is a statewide dairy with production facilities in Honolulu, Hilo and Kauai. The company employs more than 290 people.
