Paul Nolan said the company has yet to determine how many new outlets will be opened, but "our plan will be adequate to meet customers' demand for more convenience." McDonald's opened six new Hawaii restaurants in 1994 and added seven more last year.
Nolan worked 10 years in commercial real estate and joined McDonald's in 1985. He comes to Hawaii from California where he worked for McDonald's Corp. in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Nolan earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bryant College in Rhode Island, and a master's degree in business administration from Babson College in Massachusetts.
McDonald's has more than 18,000 restaurants in 90 countries. The company has 76 restaurants and more than 3,500 employees in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.
