The 16th annual World Fireknife Championships were good to the 16-year-olds this weekend. Viavia Tiumalu, 16, of Orlando, Fla., above, was crowned champion last night at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Viavia's runner-up was his own cousin, Mikaele Oloa. Together the cousins won the duet competition.

Julius Tafiti, also 16, above, took the top title in the junior division. Honors ran in the family. Julius' brother, 9-year-old Achilles, won the division for the youngest competitors, in a tie with Hale Motuapuaka.
