He also served at St. Andrew's Cathedral and St. John by the Sea Parish. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Gordon W.K., Michael R., Stephan R. and Mark L. Hopkins, and James Jr. and Kalae S. Anthony; daughter Lynlie M. Waiamau; brother Dayton Carter; sisters Myrtle Beamer, Jean Kalani, Angeline Locey, Helen Medeiros and Bernice Searle; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services pending.
