New look at Long Beach State
Long Beach State enters tomorrow's game with Hawaii with a new coaching staff and a revamped roster. But a couple of 49ers are already fairly familiar to the Rainbow Warriors.
Guard Donovan Morris, a transfer from Fresno State, had a history of big games against Hawaii while playing for the Bulldogs, and forward Brian Freeman visited the Manoa campus before signing with LBSU. The Rainbows and 49ers meet tomorrow at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tip-off is set for 5:05 p.m.

Neighbor island schools hit rankings
Big Island teams are not going to be able to sneak up on the Oahu powers this year.
That's because they are beginning the season entrenched in the Star-Bulletin's preseason prep rankings.
The No. 6 Kamehameha-Hawaii boys and Hilo girls are previewed in the Star-Bulletin's countdown of the state's top high school teams today, giving them a reasonable expectation of making the long trip to the Hawaii State Championships at the Stan Sheriff Center.
