The Friends of the Halawa Xeriscape Garden offered wreath-making classes yesterday, using cuttings from plants in the garden. Ana Oshiro displayed the wreath she was working on. Another class will be held on Saturday.

Bandmaster Michael Nakasone conducted the Royal Hawaiian Band at Iolani Palace on Friday. The band was founded by King Kamehameha III in 1836 and plays a free concert on the palace grounds every Friday from noon to 1 p.m. For information, visit www.royalhawaiianband.com.
