Saint Louis School appoints new leaders
Saint Louis School has appointed
Russell A. Valente as principal. Valente, a 1979 graduate, served as director of admissions for more than 10 years and was the former dean of discipline and athletic coach at the school.
Sam Kong Kee, a 1988 graduate, was appointed director of admissions in February after living in San Francisco for almost 20 years. He was a co-founder, partner and principal of Golden Gate Financial Group LLC, a boutique broker-dealer and investment advisory firm.
The Rev. Father Paul Zaccone has been appointed school chaplain, campus minister and teacher. He served as the parochial vicar at St. Augustine by the Sea in Waikiki, and also served at St. Patrick School and Parish and St. Ann's in Kaneohe, and St. Michael's in Waialua.
These Saint Louis students received scholarships over the summer: Marcus Mariota, Webco Foundation Scholar Award, $25,000; Patrick Ma, Kevin Donahue, the President's Award, $2,500; Eric Angle, Alfred Dai Chong Goo Scholarship, $1,000; Jacob Siazon, Jack and Edith Leong Education Grant, $1,000; Micah James Reis, Class of 1950 Descendant Scholarship, $2,000; Tristan Blake-Poasa, Class of 1950 Academic Scholarship, $2,000; Nowlin Isaia, Garret Kim, Joshua Tamatoa DeMello, Shawn Julian and Michael Julian, PWH Educational Foundation Scholarships.
